The Melting Pot is actually a chain of franchised fondue restaurants in the United States, Canada and Mexico. The Tampa, Florida based company has 167 locations as of November 2018. The melting pot contains various cheese fondues, wines, salads, entrees of meat and seafood served with dipping sauces and oil or broth to be cooked in, and chocolate fondues. It is part of Front Burner Brands.
The first Melting Pot opened in April of 1975 in Maitland, Fla., just outside Orlando. It was a cozy, quaint location, as well as its first menu was comprised of just three items: Swiss cheese fondue, beef fondue and a chocolate fondue dessert. However, since the restaurant’s popularity expanded, so did its menu and ambiance.
Friends enjoying FondueMark Johnston, who was working his way through college being a waiter at The Melting Pot, noticed the recognition boost and, with the help of his brothers Mike and Bob, scraped together funding to open The Melting Pot of Tallahassee in 1979 (using the blessing in the original owners in Maitland…needless to say). The Tallahassee location grew enormously popular, and within twelve months, its success paved the way for future franchise expansion.
In 1981, the Johnston brothers decided to branch out and opened their second location in Tampa. As his or her business grew, the brothers begun to consider franchising a lot more stores in order to expand
Then in 1985, Mark, Mike and Bob Johnston purchased all rights for the Melting Pot brand name and established The Melting Pot Restaurants, Inc., the brand new franchise company. After having a year of research and reorganization, The Melting Pot Restaurants, Inc. began its franchise offering.

The Newest Orleans, Louisiana location closed in May 2018. The Syracuse, Ny location closed in July 2018.
Design – The restaurants’ interiors are designed using deep red and black colors. They are dimly lit; all seating is mostly in booths, with private booths from the main room. Headquarters – Its headquarters are located in Tampa, Florida.
A complete meal includes a cheese fondue, a salad, main course as well as a chocolate fondue for dessert. The 4 classes are offered individually or as being a “4 Course Experience.” The Four Course Experience includes certainly one of several preset entrees, one serving of cheese, one salad, then one serving of chocolate. Main classes are still fondues, but include more typical entrees of meat, poultry, pasta and seafood.
